Mumbai Police have been placed on high alert after receiving a chilling threat message claiming that “human bombs” had been planted in 34 vehicles across the city. The message, sent to the official WhatsApp number of the Mumbai Traffic Police on September 4, 2025, warned of a massive blast that could “shake entire Mumbai.” The sender claimed affiliation with the terrorist group “Lashkar-e-Jihadi” and alleged that 14 Pakistani terrorists had entered India, along with 400 kilograms of RDX explosives purportedly ready for detonation.

Authorities are treating the threat seriously due to its specific details and have intensified security measures across Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra. The Mumbai Police control room confirmed that investigations are ongoing from all possible angles to assess the credibility of the threat and trace its origin.

A senior Mumbai police officer suggested that the threat might be a hoax but emphasized that security can never be compromised when public safety is at risk. This incident follows recent bomb threat hoaxes in the region, including a previous false alert about an explosive at a railway station in Thane.

As heightened precautions continue, residents and visitors are advised to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. The police have also coordinated with temple trusts and other public places to maintain strict surveillance during upcoming religious and cultural events.

The Mumbai Police reiterate their commitment to ensuring the city’s safety and urge cooperation from all citizens in maintaining security.
