Haryanvi Singer Fazilpuria Survives Second Assassination Attempt; Five Arrested in Gurugram

In a major breakthrough, Gurugram Police and the Special Task Force (STF) successfully foiled a second assassination attempt on popular Haryanvi singer and politician Rahul Fazilpuria. Following a fierce gunfight late Tuesday night near Wazirpur village along Pataudi Road, five sharpshooters were apprehended, four of whom sustained bullet injuries to their legs during the encounter.

Fazilpuria had narrowly escaped a similar attack on July 14 on Gurugram’s Southern Peripheral Road, where assailants fired multiple shots at his vehicle. This latest attempt appears to have been orchestrated by gangsters Rohit Sirdhania and Deepak Nandal, currently based abroad, who are believed to be involved in a wider criminal nexus including the recent murder of Fazilpuria’s close aide and financier Rohit Shokeen.

According to police, the five accused—identified as Vinod Pehalwan from Jhajjar, Padam alias Raja, Shubham alias Kala, Gautam alias Gogi, and Ashish alias Ashu from Sonipat—were intercepted following a tip-off about their movements. The operation witnessed around 18 rounds fired between the suspects and police officers before four of the suspects were injured, and one was arrested without injury.

Fazilpuria, who has reported receiving threats to his life despite no direct gang affiliations, remains unharmed, while police have substantially increased his security. The ongoing investigation focuses on cracking down on the criminal gangs targeting artists and public figures in the region.

This incident underscores rising safety concerns for celebrities in Haryana amid intensified gang conflicts and property disputes.
