Fidji Simo, OpenAI’s CEO of Applications, announced the upcoming platform, called the “OpenAI Jobs Platform,” which will leverage advanced AI algorithms to match job seekers’ skills with businesses’ requirements. “We’ll use AI to help find the perfect matches between what companies need and what workers can offer,” Simo stated in a recent blog post. The platform is designed not only to serve large enterprises but also focuses on empowering small businesses and local governments by providing them access to top AI talent and professional candidates.
This move positions OpenAI in direct competition with LinkedIn, the dominant player in professional networking, co-founded by Reid Hoffman—also an early investor in OpenAI. Additionally, OpenAI plans to roll out certifications through its OpenAI Academy—an existing online learning hub—to bolster AI fluency across the workforce.
