Gupta reportedly suffered a head injury and a fractured arm or elbow that required surgery. The incident occurred at around 8 pm on Thursday night, according to his complaint and reports published on September 14, 2026.
What allegedly happened at Magnum Global Park
According to Gupta’s complaint, he had gone to Magnum Global Park with his family for dinner. After dropping his family near a restaurant, he began looking for a place to park his car.
Gupta alleged that members of the parking staff repeatedly directed him between the valet area, basement and multilevel parking before eventually refusing to park his vehicle.
When he attempted to reverse the car, a parking attendant allegedly struck or attempted to strike the vehicle’s windshield with an iron rod. Gupta said he stepped out of the car and objected, after which the attendant allegedly attacked him with the rod.
One blow allegedly struck Gupta on the head and another hit his arm or elbow, leaving him bleeding. He also alleged that the attacker threatened to kill him.
Chef reportedly intervened during the attack
Gupta claimed that security personnel and other parking employees present at the location did not intervene. He said a chef eventually stepped in and helped him.
He also alleged that police did not arrive for approximately 30 minutes after he called the emergency helpline.
Head and elbow injuries required treatment
Gupta was subsequently transported by ambulance to a private hospital. NDTV identified the hospital as Medanta.
Reports describe a head injury and a fractured arm or elbow. Gupta reportedly underwent surgery in which plates were inserted to repair the fracture.
Some initial summaries described the injury as a broken hand, while more detailed accounts referred to an elbow fracture. The exact medical diagnosis has not been independently confirmed.
Veteran raises allegations about medico-legal report
Gupta has also alleged that the hospital’s medico-legal case report did not mention the bleeding from his head or the serious injury to his elbow.
